MARY REMPEL

(Mrs.) Mary Rempel was born to Gerhard and Anna Brown on November 3, 1894, at Burwalde, near Winkler, Man. Here she attended school and came to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was baptized at 14 years on the confession of her faith by Rev. JOhn Warkentin and joined the fellowship of the Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1918 she was united in marriage to Jacob H. Rempel. Together with him she shared 51 years of life. They farmed south of Morden from 1923 to 1957 and since 1957 on a farm a mile east of Morden. Her husband predeceased her by five months.

She went to be with the Lord on September 5 at the age of 74. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Alice, Mrs. Broadbent of Thornhill, George of Morden, Ruth of Hudson Hope, B.C., Jim a,t home and Mrs. Isaac Knelson of Morden. The funeral service was held in the Winkler (Man.) Church on September 8 with Rev. J.M. Schmidt and Rev. Frank H. Friesen ministering.
