Mrs. David Becker and children, from Franzthal, South Russia, arrived in Lehigh last Monday evening, following a trip which lasted about two years. Her husband, and youngest child, aged four years, died while on the overseas voyage. Mrs. Becker and four children were forced to spend four months at Ellis Island. Two of her relatives living near Goessel, one of these being Mr. G. M. Schmidt, furnished the $1,000 bond required by the government as a guarantee that the children will not be kept from school as long as they are of school age. This means that they will not be kept away in order that they may go out to earn money.
