NOTED COMPOSER DIES IN GERMANY

Richard Strauss, noted composer, died at his home at Garmisch, Germany, on September 8, at the age of 85.

Strauss became internationally famous even as a youth and many of his works are favorites in America as well as Europe. At the age of 19 he quit school to devote his entire time to music.
