UNUSUAL FUNERAL AT VINELAND, ONTARIO, LARGELY ATTENDED

Vineland, Ont. — “But by the grace of God I am what I am” (I Cor. 15:10) was the text used at the funeral of 79 year old H. Koop held at the Mennonite church here on March 6.

The Scripture passage, however had been chosen for Mr. and Mrs. Koop’s golden wedding instead of as a funeral text. All arrangements had been made to celebrate the couples’ 50th wedding anniversary on March 5, when Mr. Koop died unexpectedly on the evening of March 4. As if in premonition of his approaching death, he had previously asked that funeral arrangements be made for him.
