— Funeral services for Philip Schmidt, 79, who had lived most of his life on a farm near Walton, were held on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 4, at Walton Mennonite Church, with Rev. Herbert Miller officiating. Schmidt died July 31 at Peabody Memorial Home, where he had been a resident since September 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Milferd [sic Milford] (Irene) Jantz, Walton; two sisters, Mrs. Henry F. Voth, Rt. 2, and Mrs. Ben Duerksen of Goessel.
