— A respected and well-known pioneer resident of the Freeman, S. D., community, Joseph J. N. Waltner, passed away on July 24, and was laid to rest July 26 with Rev. Willard K. Claassen officiating.  He had come to Yankton county, S. D., from Russia as a lad, and was a long-time member of the Salem Mennonite church.  He farmed in Turner county for about 45 years, and at one time served as director and stockholder of the Farmers State Bank, Marion, S. D.
