John Elliott Regier, 54, died Tuesday (Feb. 26, 2002) at Newton Medical Center.

He was born June 17, 1947, to Hans and Luella (Smith) Regier in Newton. They preceded him in death.

He worked for the dietary department at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church. He lived in the Newton area most of his life and was a volunteer at Bethel College Mennonite Church for many years.

He is survived by a half sister, Marian Piper of San Antonio.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Church Cemetery with the Revs. Heidi Regier Kreider and Steve Yoder, both of Bethel College Mennonite Church, officiating.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel College Mennonite Church.

Memorials have been established with the Northview Developmental Services Endowment Fund in care of the funeral home.
