DEACON OF OHIO CHURCH DIED
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Elmer J. Varnes, 70, who had served as deacon of the Martins Creek and Berlin Mennonite churches for many years, was found dead at his home, Becks Mills, on Aug. 22 by his housekeeper. He had been suffering from a heart ailment for several months.
Funeral services were held at the Martins Creek church Aug. 25, with Bishop D. D.
