Altona, Manitoba. — Burns inflicted by scalding water in the kitchen of the Tony H. Funk home, Gretna, proved fatal to their four year old son, Leon Roy. The tragic accident occurred when the little boy ran into the kitchen and upset a vessel of water being heated on the stove. He suffered second and third degree bums over about one-third of his body.

Funeral services were held June 19 in the Mennonite Collegiate Institute auditorium, Gretna, Rev. John Heinrichs and Rev. JJ W. Schmidt officiating.

KITCHEN ACCIDENT FATAL TO BOY, 4

Altona, Manitoba. — Burns inflicted by scalding water in the kitchen of the Tony H. Funk home, Gretna, proved fatal to their four year old son, Leon Roy. The tragic accident occurred when the little boy ran into the kitchen and upset a vessel of water being heated on the stove. He suffered second and third degree bums over about one-third of his body.

Funeral services were held June 19 in the Mennonite Collegiate Institute auditorium, Gretna, Rev. John Heinrichs and Rev. JJ W. Schmidt officiating.
