Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Eli M. Hochstetler, 83, who served as a minister in the Old Order Amish church for 40 years before his retirement in 1940, passed away May 21 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Amos Stutzmans of Route 1 Fredericksburg.

RETIRED MINISTER DIED AT AGE 83

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Eli M. Hochstetler, 83, who served as a minister in the Old Order Amish church for 40 years before his retirement in 1940, passed away May 21 at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Amos Stutzmans of Route 1 Fredericksburg.

Funeral services were held at the Stutzman home on May 24, Jacob A Miller officiating.

His wife, Emma, five daughters, two brothers and two sisters survive.
