— A former resident of the Hillsboro and Marion communities, D. H. [''sic'' H. D.] Wiebe, 63, passed away at Reedley, Calif. on Tuesday, June 21, according to word received by relatives here. He was stricken with a heart attack while picking plums and died within a short time. Funeral services were held at Reedley on June 24. Mr. Wiebe was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Herman B. Neufeld, Mrs. Mary Dalke and Mrs. Katie Kafton, all living at Newton. Also surviving are his wife, Anna, three sons, and three daughters, two brothers at Hillsboro and a brother and two sisters at Reedley.

<center><h3>WELL-KNOWN TEACHER AND PASTOR CALLED IN CALIFORNIA</h3></center>
 
Word has been received here of the sudden death of Rev. H. D. Wiebe, retired M. B. minister who succumbed to a heart attack at his home in Reedley, California last Sunday morning.
 
Rev. Wiebe, who was born at Hillsboro Dec. 12, 1889, had a long record of service as a pastor, teacher and evangelist.  He was ordained to the ministry in 1917 and served churches in Oklahoma and at Shafter, Calif. He was an instructor at the Corn, Okla. Bible Academy from 1919 to 1936, and taught Bible and German at Tabor college from 1937 to 1939.
 
Rev. Wiebe was also active in conference and mission work, having served as chairman of the Southern District and Pacific District M.B. conferences and as mission board secretary in both districts.
