Inman Pioneer Called by Death

Inman, Kans. — Peter M. Doerksen, one of the pioneer settlers who arrived in this area from South Russia 76 years ago, died of a heart attack at his home here, Sunday morning, March 8, at the age of 83.

He was a member of the Bethel Mennonite congregation, whose church building was recently destroyed by fire. Funeral services were to be held Wednesday afternoon at the Inman Mennonite church.

Surviving are his wife, Helena; four daughters and four sons; 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
