ANDREAS PENNER

Andreas Penner, Beatrice, Nebraska, was born March 1, 1863, at Warnau, near Marieinburg [sic Marienburg], West Prussia. His parents were Heinrich and Marie Penner, nee Penner.

He received his elementary training in a local school. Having been instructed by his parents in the Word of God he expressed his desire of entering a covenant with the Lord, and was baptized by Elder John Toews of Russia on the confession of sins and a confession of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and was received into the Mennonite church.

He came to America in 1883 and stayed with relatives on the farm for several years. In the spring of 1890 he began to farm for himself. January 12, 1893, he was united in marriage with Helen Reimer. This union was blessed with two children. By the grace of God they were permitted to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in 1918.

In 1926 the Lord called our mother to her eternal reward. A few years later father left the farm and moved to town. His health began to fail and gradually got worse. February 4 we took him to our hospital where he received the best of care. He passed away the evening of February 11, to be with his Lord and Savior. He reached the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

He leaves to mourn one son one daughter, one daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, and many relatives and friends.

"And I have heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." — The Children.
