Toews preached the funeral sermon.  Other ministers who participated in the service were Dr. P. R. Lange Rev. J. W. Vogt.

Former Tabor College President Called Away in Death

DR. H. W. LOHRENZ DIED IN HOSPITAL AT HILLSBORO LATE LAST WEEK

Hillsboro, Kansas. — Dr. H. W. Lohrenz, widely known minister, church leader, educator and former college president died at the Salem hospital here Friday, March 16, as result of an heart ailment from which he had suffered for some time.

An unusually large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives attended the funeral services held at the Mennonite Brethren church Tuesday afternoon.

Dr. Lohrenz served his conference in many capacities, but was best known for his outstanding work as president of Tabor College from 1908 to 1931. He was executive secretary of the Mennonite Brethren Board of Foreign Missions at the time of his death. He had also held the position of dean of Tabor college for five years, served as professor of biology and Bible at Bethel College and taught one year at the Corn Bible School at Corn, Oklahoma.

Desiring to get a well-rounded education, Dr. Lohrenz studied at many different colleges and universities, which included McPherson College, the University of Kansas, Columbia University, Princeton Theological Seminary, the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary and others.
