Archbold, Ohio. &#8212; Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon, July 1, for Rev. E. M. Slagle, widely known eader [''sic''] in the Defenseless Mennonite conference. Rev. Slagle died at his home here Thursday, June 28, after an illness of about six months during which time he suffered several paralytic strokes. he was 70 years old.

The deceased minister held important positions in his conference during the years of his active ministry, having been chairman for several terms and a member of the Foreign Mission Board. he was pastor of the local church for 20 years and also served a church at pioneer, Ohio, for some time. Following his retirement from the ministry, he served as representative of the Northern Bible Society as long as circumstances permitted.

Funeral services held at the local church were largely attended. After the services here the body was taken to the cemetery at Pioneer for interment.

Well Known Ohio Minister Called Away In Death June 28

REV. E. M. SLAGLE FORMER CHAIRMAN OF DEFENSELESS MENNONITE CONFERENCE

Archbold, Ohio. — Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon, July 1, for Rev. E. M. Slagle, widely known eader [sic] in the Defenseless Mennonite conference. Rev. Slagle died at his home here Thursday, June 28, after an illness of about six months during which time he suffered several paralytic strokes. he was 70 years old.

The deceased minister held important positions in his conference during the years of his active ministry, having been chairman for several terms and a member of the Foreign Mission Board. he was pastor of the local church for 20 years and also served a church at pioneer, Ohio, for some time. Following his retirement from the ministry, he served as representative of the Northern Bible Society as long as circumstances permitted.

Funeral services held at the local church were largely attended. After the services here the body was taken to the cemetery at Pioneer for interment.
