Freeman, S. D. – One of the largest funerals held at the Salem Krimmer Mennonite Brethren church near here in recent years took place Thursday, March 9, when Miss Esther Mendel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Mendel, was laid to her final resting place. Miss Mendel was a missionary candidate and had already devoted much of here time and talents to mission activities here as well as in other communities. She was a gifted musician.

Mendel, was laid to her final resting place. Miss Mendel was a missionary candidate and had already devoted much of here time and talents to mission activities here as well as in other communities. She was a gifted musician.
   
She passed away Monday, march 6, at the Sacred Heart hospital at Yankton, S. D., after a severe illness of several weeks. She reached the age of 19 years.
