Mr. Bartel is a former resident of Newton and left for the west coast about 25 years ago.  He was 50 years of age.  He leaves a wife Jennett, one daughter Muriel and a son, Jack, who is in Honolulu.  He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Bernhard Bartel Sr., three brothers, Robert, Arthur and Henry and two sisters, Martha Deckman and Helen Anderson.

Ben Bartel

The death of Bernhard Bartel, occurred at his home in Warren, Ore., on Janaury 3.

Mr. Bartel is a former resident of Newton and left for the west coast about 25 years ago. He was 50 years of age. He leaves a wife Jennett, one daughter Muriel and a son, Jack, who is in Honolulu. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Bernhard Bartel Sr., three brothers, Robert, Arthur and Henry and two sisters, Martha Deckman and Helen Anderson.

Funeral services were held January 7 at the Rogers Funeral home at St. Helena, Ore., and interment took place in the Lutheran cemetery at Warren, Ore.
