Auto Driver Causes Death of Aged Couple.
According to a report from Lodi, California, Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Peters, an aged couple of that city recently were instantly killed when they were hit by a speeding car.
The Reedley Exponent of January 8 gives the following account of this tragedy:
"Mr. and Mrs. Peters were walking a few feet from the curb and about to enter their machine when a car, driven presumably by a drunken driver, passed on the right side, instead of the left, and hit Mr. and Mrs. Peters, dragging them some distance down the street. The occupants of the hit and run mahcine finally stopped their car and ran from the scene.
"The owner of the car claimed he knew of no one taking his car so the automobile was evidently stolen."
Funeral services held at Lodi were attend by a very large number of friends and relatives.
