— Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church of Newton for an aged couple, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Moore, who last Wednesday morning had taken their own lives by hanging themselves in a barn at their home in the northern part of the city. When found by their housekeeper, which was at about 10:30 o'clock, the two were thought to have been dead for about an hour. Mr. Moore, aged 87 and his wife, 63, were both in very ill health and it is thought that despondency over this caused them to make mutual plans to end their trouble, as investigations show that both had evidently made extensive preparations for the deed.
