GOESSEL BOY DIES OF INJURIES

Waldemor Schmidt Falls From Tractor Under Plow Dragging him ½ Mi.

Waldemor Schmidt, twelve year old son of Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Schmidt, who was seriously injured last Thursday afternoon while plowing with the tractor passed away Saturday and was buried Tuesday, August 7th. Waldemor was plowing on the Schmidt farm north of Goessel and somehow fell under the plow. A neighbor, Dick Reimer, passing by while trucking wheat to Lehigh, noticed the tractor without the driver. Returning half-an-hour later he saw that the tractor had stopped after plowing in a zigzag manner into a neighboring field. Reimer stopped to investigate and found the boy badly cut up. The boy was still conscious when Reimer reached him but he soon lost consciousness from the loss of blood for the tractor had gone around in loose ground for half a mile with the boy dragging under the plow before he was rescued. Waldemor's body was badly mutilated, his right hip injured and the leg just below the hip was almost cut off. He was taken to the Goessel hospital where he passed away Saturday afternoon. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl church and interment was made in the church cemetery.
