He was at the hospital for a month and was very ill for a week. Funeral services were held from the M. B. church, Monday at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. Lange officiated, assisted by the Reverends H. Buhler, Kansas, May 24. — Peter Martens, died last week at the age of 81 yeears, 11 months, and 29 days at the Bethesda Hospital at Goessel, Friday night, May 27.
Mr. Martens migrated to South Dakota from Russia in 1874. From there moving to Enid, Oklahoma, and then to Buhler, where he ha lived for the past ten years. he is survived by two daughters, Miss Mary Martins [sic Martens] of Hutchinson and Mrs. D. Olferd of Buhler.
He was at the hospital for a month and was very ill for a week. Funeral services were held from the M. B. church, Monday at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. Lange officiated, assisted by the Reverends H. Adrian and Peter Wiens. interment was made at the Buhler cemetery.
The church choir sang at the church and a male quartet at the cemetery services, at which Rev. Lange conducted the final rituals. — Buhler Review.
