Margaret Koehn Androes, daughter of Cornelius and Wilhelmina (Lehman) Koehn, was born Aug. 18, 1896, near Goessel, Kan. | |||
She was baptized upon her confession of faith in Christ Jesus on May 31, 1914 by the Elder Heinrich Banman and received into the fellowship of the Alexanderwohl Church. transferring her membership to the First Mennonite Church at Newton on May 17, 1959, she remained a faithful member there till death. | |||
On Dec. 11, 1932 she was united in marriage to Pete P. Androes, thereby taking on the responsibility as mother to four small children. Their marriage was blessed with one son and two daughters. Together they shared the joy of celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in December 1957. | |||
Our parents made their home on a farm near Elbing, Kan. for nearly 20 years. During this time they regularly attended the Zion Mennonite Church. They moved to their present home in Newton in 1952. | |||
Mother was in good health till early spring when she began to fail. She first entered the hospital on Aug. 7, spending five weeks there. Leaving the hospital the middle of September, she was able to enjoy ten more weeks at home, re-entering the hospital on Nov. 25. Here she passed away at 10:28 p.m. on Jan. 4, 1962, having reached the age of 65 years, four months and 17 days. | |||
She leaves to mourn, her husband, three sons, Lesie and wife Dorothy of Levittown, New Jersey, Paul and wife Vernelle of Newton, Willard and wife Kathleen of McPherson; four daughters, Betty and husband Charles Harmony of Hutchinson, Dorothy and husband Charles Foust of Bartlesville, Okla., Melba and husband David Langanegger of Wichita, Mary Lou and husband Robert Schmidt of Newton; fifteen grandchildren, and two brothers, David and Henry Koehn. | |||
Preceding her in death were her parents, six sisters and four brothers. | |||
