Former Missionary Nurse Dies in Oregon
Albany, Ore. (GCMC) – Esther Wiebe Becker, 75, a missionary nurse in India from 1951 to 1964, died July 26 at the Mennonite Home.
She was born Oct. 13, 1920, to Henry B. and Katie Enz Wiebe. She married Henry D. Becker in 1964. He survives.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Aberdeen, Idaho. She was a graduate of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, Bethel Deaconess School of Nursing in Newton, Kan., and Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. In India she served with the Commission on Overseas Mission of the General Conference Mennonite Church. She also worked in the Mennonite Homes in Albany and McMinnville, Ore.
