Delmar K. Yoder, son of Kores M. and Sadie King Yoder, was born in Iowa County, Iowa, on Nov. 13, 1927 and passed from this life on Nov. 9, 1972, four days before his 45th birthday.  His death resulted from injuries sustained in the crash of his light plane.
 
On May 4, 1949, he married Ada Mae Swartzendruber, formerly of Hydro, Okla., who survives.  To this union were born three daughters, Roberta, Mrs. Ernie Kandel, of Coralville, Suzanna of Washington, and Karla of Burlington; and one son, Kevin, at home, all of whom survive.
 
Also surviving are his parents; two brothers, Marvin and Wilmer, both of Wellman; one sister, Anne Mary, of Honduras, Central America; seven uncles and three aunts.
 
Delmar lived most of his life in Iowa County.  He owned and operated the Home Gas Company of Wellman, Iowa, belonged to the Wellman Flying Club, the Community Club, and the Iowa L. P. Gas Association where he was serving on the executive committee.
 
He accepted Christ as his Saviour in 1941 and was baptized into the Christian Church on Dec. 14 of that year, holding membership in the West Union Mennonite Church until his death.
 
Funeral services were held at West Union Mennonite Church on Nov. 11, 1972 with J. John J. Miller and Emery Hochstetler officiating.  Interment was in the West Union Cemetery.
