&#9679; Funeral services were held May 16 at the Reedley (Calif.) Mennonite Brethren Church for Lena (Mrs. Alvin) Gaede, 86. A native of Hillsboro, she died at Reedley May 12. She and her husband farmed in the Ebenfeld area until he began attending medical school at the University of Kansas. The couple served under Mennonite Central Committee in Paraguay before making their home in Bakersfield, Calif. He died in 1953, and in 1977 she moved to Reedley. Survivors include three sons, Calvin and wife Dorothy of Hyattsville, Md., Don and wife Mary Lou of Torrance, Calif., and Jim and wife Mary of Reedley; one daughter, Beatrice, and husband Jack Gusner, Goleta, Calif.; four brothers, John and Levi of Hillsboro, Dave of Newton and Edwin of Shell Knob, Mo.; two sisters, Agnes Hagen and Vera Harder, both of Hillsboro; and 10 grandchildren.
