Benjamin J. Miller, son of John C. and Fanny Miller, was born near Kalona, Iowa on Jan.30, 1881, and died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City on Jan. 22, 1958, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 22 days.
 
In the year 1900 he became a member of the Old Order Amish Mennonite church, in which faith he remained until death.  On Oct. 29, 1903, he was united in marriage to Magdalena Yoder who survives him with two adopted children, Anna, wife of Clifford Miller and Harley of Kalona; five brothers, Henry of Wellman, Harvey of Kalona, Abe of Haven, Kansas, John of Topeka, Ind., two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Miller of Millersburg, Indiana and Mary Ann of Kalona.
 
Funeral services were held at the Clifford B. Miller home Saturday, Jan. 25, at 9:30 a.m. with Ira Nisley, Dan Hershberer and Albert S. Miller in charge.  Burial was made in the East Union cemetery.
 
Among those attending the funeral were John W. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. John Ray Miller and son, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gerber, Mrs. Chauncey Kauffman, Mrs. Harley Bontrager, Mrs. Wm D. Smucker and J. D. Miller, all from La Grange, Ind.  Mr. and Mrs. Dan D. Miller of Topeka, Ind., Sam Knepp and Enos Frey of Shipshewana, Ind., Mrs. Rufus Yoder and son Jamie.  Mrs. Reuben Yoder and Sam Miller from Hutchinson, Kan. and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Miller of Jamesport, Mo.
