LEONA UNRUH
Leona Ruth Unruh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Unruh, was born on November 17, 1937 and died on August 6, 1957 at the age of 19 years, eight months, and 20 days. She passed away peacefully while in a coma caused by a cerebral hemorrhage, which had brought her to the hospital but one day before her passing.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her parents; one sister, Verna (Mrs. Bernard Wolford) and her husband of Wichita; one brother Erwin and his wife Cloris of Buhler; one niece; and many other relatives and friends.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized on June 22, 1957 by Rev. D. C. Wedel, joining the Buhler Mennonite Church. She remained a faithful and useful member of this church to the time of her departure. She served one summer on the staff of the Buhler vacation Bible school, and during her high school years, she was a member of the youth choir and girl's choir of the Buhler church.
For the last eight months, Leona lived in Newton and was employed at the First Federal Savings and Loan Co. where she served well in her work. Previous to this she had graduated from Buhler high school and the Salt City business College, and had been employed for a time in Hutchinson.
Her life was suspended just as the bud had burst into flower, but the memory of her radiant Christian life and her cheerful friendliness to those around her will always be treasured by her family and her friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Buhler Mennonite Church.
