● Funeral services for Walter Hiebert, 66, semi-retired farmer and lifetime resident of the Ebenfield community southeast of Hillsboro, died unexpectedly Sept. 22 following an apparent heart attack. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church, with Rev. Richard Wieneke and Rev. A. E. Janzen officiating. Mrs. John B. Wiebe of Newton is among four sisters who survive. Also surviving are his widow, the former Esther Suderman, two sons and three daughters and their families, and three brothers.
