&#9679; Funeral services for Kenneth L. Toevs, 70, of North Newton, were held April 20 at Emmaus Mennonite Church, rural Whitewater.  Rodney Crowell, Andrew Shelly and Lubin Jantzen officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  He died April 17 at Newton Medical Center.  He was a longtime Whitewater resident and a farmer and stockman.  He moved to North Newton in November.  Survivors include his wife, Rosella (Dyck) Toevs; two sons, Russell of Whitewater and Richard of Newton; one daughter, Carol Entz of rural Newton; two brothers, Herman of Newton and Arthur of Colorado; one sister, Enda Krehbiel of North Newton; and three grandchildren.
