&#9679; Martha (Mrs. Jacob) Schmidt, 85, of Goessel died Jan. 7 at the Bethesda Home. Services took place Jan. 11 at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with Orlando Waltner in charge. Born Martha Goertzen, she was married in 1921 to Jacob B. Schmidt, and they lived on a farm near Goessel until his death in 1970. She moved into Goessel in 1971. Survivors include a son, Marvin of Newton; two daughters, Hilda (Mrs. Olin) Unruh of rural Hillsboro and Ella Schmidt of Wichita; three brothers, Arnold and Philip Goertzen, both of Goessel, and Ferd Goertzen of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren.

● Martha (Mrs. Jacob) Schmidt, 85, of Goessel died Jan. 7 at the Bethesda Home. Services took place Jan. 11 at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with Orlando Waltner in charge. Born Martha Goertzen, she was married in 1921 to Jacob B. Schmidt, and they lived on a farm near Goessel until his death in 1970. She moved into Goessel in 1971.
