Survivors include a son, Gene W. of rural Newton; one sister, Helen Dick of Waco, Texas; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Hazel Welch, in 1983; by one son, Perry, in 1983; by one daughter, Elise Entz, in 1947; and by two brothers, Ed in 1973 and Arthur in 1911.
