+ | — Philip D. Schmidt, 85, of Goessel, a retired farmer, died Aug 6 at Bethesda Home for the Aged, Goessel. Funeral services were held Aug. 19 at Goessel Mennonite Church, with Darrell Ediger officiating. Burial was in Goessel Cemetery. He had lived on a farm near Goessel until moving to town in 1979. Schmidt had been a Bethesda resident since May 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Deloris Schmidt of rural Newton and Elsie Schmidt of Goessel; one brother, Adolf E., of Goessel; one sister, Anna Banman, of Goessel; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Edna Unrau, preceded him in death. |
