&#9679; Anna Ewert, 94, of Bethel Home for Aged, Newton, died May 9 at the home. She was a former Halstead homemaker. Graveside services were held May 12 at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro, with John Gaeddert officiating. Memorial services also were held that day at First Mennonite Church, Halstead. Survivors include one son, William H. of Halstead; one daughter, Della Jost, of Reedley, Calif.; three sisters, Elizabeth Balzer of Newton, Ruth Buland of Taft, Texas, and Bertina Braun of Council Grove; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Leo, preceded her in death in 1972.
