HIGHWAY ACCIDENTS DURING CHRISTMAS

SEASON FATAL TO TWO

Hutchinson, Kan. — Funeral services for Edith Marlyn Unruh, 13, who suffered fatal injuries when struck by a car near here Christmas eve, were held Sunday afternoon at the Zoar K.M.B. Church near Inman. Rev. D. C. Pauls and Rev. Lester Morgan officiated.

The fatal mishap occurred near the Unruh home southeast of Hutchinson when a car driven by Harlan E. Rice of the Hutchinson Naval Air Station struck Edith as she and her hister [sic] Erna were walking along the road. Visibility was poor due to rain.

Edith was brought to Grace Hospital here, but was prounced [sic] dead upon arrival.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Unruh, two brothers and seven sisters.

According to press reports, one of the many victims of highway accidents in Oklahoma over the Christmas season was Lena Boehs, 69, of Ringwood, who was killed when the automobile in which she was a passenger ran off a bridge near Fairview.
