JACOB F. TIESZEN

Funeral services for Jacob F. Tieszen, 80, of North Newton, Kan. were held the afternoon of Dec. 22, 1976 at Faith Mennonite Church, Newton, with Rev. Leonard Wiebe officiating.

Mr. Tieszen died Dec. 20, 1976 in Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. Burial was in the Tabor Mennonite Church cemetery.

Mr. Tieszen was born April 21, 1896, at Marion, S. D., the son of Franz and Anna Ratzlaff Tieszen. He married Augusta Voth on Nov. 3, 1917, in Marion county, Kansas. They moved to Newton from near Walton in 1955 when he retired from the farm. Mrs. Tieszen proceeded him in death on Nov. 7, 1973. He was a member of the Faith Mennonite church.

Survivors include four sons, Charles of Newton, Milton of Denver, Colo., Walter of Haysville, and Lewis of Walton; four daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Vernelle) Wedel of Moundridge, Mrs. Herman (Helen) Sanders of Eugene, Ore., Mrs. David (Regina) Wheeler, Newton, and Mrs. Larry (Darlene) Gilchrist, Hays; three brothers, Ed, Art and Dietrict, all of Marion, S.D.; and Mrs. Sara Becker, San Jose, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
