Mary Krehbiel, daughter of Adolph and Mary Goering, was born on Dec. 3, 1882, southwest of Moundridge in Harvey County, Kansas.

She lived in the Moundridge community all of her life. She was baptized on Oct. 8, 1899, and became a member of the Hopefield Eden Mennonite Church and remained a faithful member of the Eden Church until her death.

She was married to Solomon Krehbiel on Feb. 28, 1907. Three children were born to this union. A son, Albert, died in infancy. Mother was a meticulous housekeeper. She maintained a friendly and hospitable home. Above all, mother was concerned for the spiritual nurture and instruction of her family. She loved the culture of flowers, and cultivated in her family an appreciation for art and music.

The parents moved to Moundridge from the farm in 1955. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February 1957. In September 1957 father passed away. In April 1966 Mother Krehbiel moved to the Memorial Home where she passed away on Jan. 26, 1973, at the age of 90.

Mother was preceded in death by an infant son, Albert, six sisters and one brother, Henry A. Goering. She leaves to mourn her departure two daughters, Elma and husband Joe J. Goering of Moundridge, Esther and husband Walter H. Foth, Newton; four grandchildren, six step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren, three step great-great-grandchildren; one sister Anna A. Goering, Newton, and one sister-in-Iaw, Lydia Goering, Moundridge.
