Retired Businessman, Former Mayor Dies

Mt. Lake, Minn.—Funeral services were held at the Bethel Mennonite Church here on May 9 for Henry J. Brown, 78, a retired businessman and mayor of Mt. Lake from 1946 to 1968. Rev. Walter Gering, pastor, and Rev. Ray Reimer at Firth, Neb, son-in-law of Mr. Brown officiated.

A native of the Ukraine, South Russia, Mr. Brown was drafted for military service as a young man and served in the forestry department and later in the White Army. He fled to refugee camps at Constantinople, coming to Mt. Lake in 1922. He operated a plumbing firm here and also founded Demcor, a plastic manufacturing firm, which he sold in 1969.
