ABRAM DIETRICH BERGMAN
Abram Dietrich Bergman of Leamington , Ont o passed away on October 12. He was born on October 4, 1905 at Kassaffint, in th e Caucasus region in southern Russia to Sara (Peters) and Dietrich Bergman . His father was a teacher, so the family lived in sev e ral locations. At age 1B, Abram became a born again Christian and was baptized into the Mennonite Brethren church in the Kuban. In fall 1924 he immigrated to Canada, settling in Alberta and later near Brandon, Man. On February 23, 1929 he married Margaret Friesen, and in 1935 they moved to Leaming- ton, where they farmed for 45 years. He served the community in several agricultural capacities, as director and vice-president of the Leamington Fair Board and as active member of the Horticultural Society of Leamington. He leaves to mourn his wife Margaret; two sisters, Adina Toews of Leam- ington and Olga Bergman of Harrow, Ont .; two brothers, Ed and Lena of Leamington and Ted and Rita of Mersea Township , Ont o The funeral was held October 14 in the Leam- ington Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Arthur Willms and David Derksen officiating.
