JACOB VOTH
Jacob Voth died Oct. 2, 2007 from cancer. He was born Mar. 28, 1924 in Friedensfeld, Ukraine to Jakob Peter and Maria Voth. As a teen, his parents were deported, but he managed to escape to Germany, coming to Canada in 1947. Jacob worked in a logging camp in Ontario and moved to Coaldale, Alta., where he married Margareta (Rita) Sudermann. He worked in concrete for 30 years. In retirement, everyone was amazed at how he could make needlepoint pictures with such big hands. Predeceased by 4 siblings, he is mourned by Rita; son Jake (Eileen); 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 1 brother. The funeral was Oct. 6 at Coaldale MB Church.
