Henry Peters of Hepburn, Sask passed away on May 1. He was born August 25, 1890 in Petersburg, Boone County, Nebraska to Peter and Margaretha Gunther. His mother died when he was four and a half months old. His uncle Peter Peters and his wife became his foster parents. They moved to Canada in 1894, settling near the present Hepburn. He took on the name Peters. In 1911 he married Helena Schmidt . On September 7, 1924, they were baptized and accepted into the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church. He spent his last six years in Saskatoon. During this time, writes the reporter, he s read through the Bible several times and memorized Psalm 23, which he recited for visitors, always stopping in amazement at the word "forever". He was predeceased by his wife Helena in 1974, and by two sons.
