Katharina Schmidt died July 21. She was born in Aliesowa, Russia Apr. 23, 1914 to Peter and Susanna Krieger. Bible reading, prayer, and singing were an important part of the family's life. She attended Sunday school as long as com- munist authorities permitted. At 9, she accepted Christ. KCltharina worked on a collective farm for 10 years where labour was hard, food often inadequate, hours long.
