At 16, he accepted Christ as Saviour, but soon drifted away from faith due to lack of follow-up. On Nov. 17, 1945 he married Rose Friesen. John farmed for one year, then worked for Neufeldt Industries and served as a volunteer firefighter for 30 years. John and Rose en- joyed 60 years together, and loved travelling and gardening. In 1981, during a friend's funeral and sensing a void in his life, John came back to the Lord. John freely spoke of God's wonderful grace.
