HEDWIG SCHULZ
Hedwig Schulz died peacefully Feb. 12, 2005. She was born July 9, 1942 to Peter and Maria Reimer in Fernheim, Paraguay. Hedwig accepted Jesus as her Lord and Sav- iour and was baptized at 17. Hedwig lost her mother during this time. Household duties and care for younger siblings became her responsibility, causing her to rely on a strength that was far greater than her own. She immigrated to Canada in 1971 and, after a short courtship, married Cornelius Schulz in 1972. Many say the word "grace" epitomized Hedwig. She suffered from osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis and un- derwent many surgeries. After her husband's death in 1992, she raised two teenage daughters on her own, but not a word of complaint escaped from her lips . She spent a great deal of time in the Word and prayer. People who called to offer encouragement often found themselves encouraged. Prede- ceased by Cornelius, Hedwig is mourned by daughters Monika (Mark) and Evelyn; her stepmother; 2 sisters; 1 brother. The funeral was Feb . 21 , 2005 at North Kildonan MB Church, Winnipeg.
