LUISE GOERTZEN

Luise Goertzen died July 29. She was born April 9, 1920 to Elizabeth Goertzen in Fuerstenwerder, Ukraine. Skilled in both German and Russian, she was sent to Germany to work as a translator during World War II. From there, she and her mother were able to immigrate to Canada in 1947. They settled in B.C. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour and was baptized. She was a member of Vancouver MB Church until her death. She had a passion for missions, especially to Ukraine, and enjoyed hearing from people who visited the area of her birth. She is survived by numerous cousins in Canada, Germany and Russia.
