Elderly Amishman Dies When Hit by Auto
Goshen, Ind. — An accident on US-6 just west of the Nappanee city limits claimed the life of David J. Hochstetler, 82, lifelong Amish resident of the Nappanee community.
Witnesses reported that Hochstetler started to walk across the highway, hesitated and then tried to run across ahead of an oncoming car. However, he was hit and thrown into the air, landing on the trunk.
Funeral services were held at the family home on Sept. 19.
