KONSTANTIN OSKAR ERNST SAWATZKY

Oskar Sawatzky died Aug. 31. He was born June 24, 1919 in Adels- dort, Niedershlesien, Germany to Heinrich J. and Matylda Sawatzky. The family immigrated to Dalmeny, Sask. in 1923. He attended Bethany Bible Institute for 1 year. He accepted the Lord in the late 1930s. He was baptized and joined Dalmeny MB Church. His rela- tionship with Jesus was a priority. He married Helen Krause Oct. 19, 1951. They lived in Saskatoon where Oskar worked at warehous- es. In 1957 they moved to Dalmeny to oper- ate a gas station. In 1959 they moved to the family farm. He loved to farm, garden and work on projects. He loved his family. He sang in quartets and choirs, taught Sunday school, led clubs, was a deacon and took care of the church grounds. He had a special love for children, especially those who need - ed extra attention. He is mourned by Helen; daughters Donna Nazarenko, Smith Falls, ant.; Beverly Phillips, Castlegar, B.C.; sons Arden, Saskatoon; Kevin, Calgary; 3 grand- children; 2 brothers; 1 sister. The funeral was Sept. 6 in Dalmeny Community Church.
