Ninepoints, Pa. &#8212;  A young Amish father and his 10-month-old son were among the nine persons believed drowned in the floods which swept Lancaster County during last month's tropical storm.
 
Sam Kauffman, 22, his wwife Sarah and their infant son were trying to cross Pequa Creek with their horse-drawn wagon when flood waters swept them into the stream.  Mrs. Kauffman was found clinging to a tree and was unharmed, but her husband and child drowned.

Young Father, Son Drowning Victims In Lancaster County

Ninepoints, Pa. — A young Amish father and his 10-month-old son were among the nine persons believed drowned in the floods which swept Lancaster County during last month's tropical storm.

Sam Kauffman, 22, his wwife Sarah and their infant son were trying to cross Pequa Creek with their horse-drawn wagon when flood waters swept them into the stream. Mrs. Kauffman was found clinging to a tree and was unharmed, but her husband and child drowned.
