Illness Proves Fatal To Berne Coach
Berne, Ind. — Jerry Sekerak, 31, football and wrestling coach at South Adams High School, died Jan. 28 at Jay County Hospital, Portland.
The young man, in his first year of coaching and teaching here, became ill on Jan. 24 and underwent surgery for a bleeding ulcer. Several hundred students of the school took part in special prayer for Sekerak in the chapel of the First Mennonite Church on Jan. 27. A largely attended memorial service was held in the school gym on Sunday afternoon.
