&bull; Mrs. Mary Franz, 89, died Jan. 25 at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. The funeral was conducted Saturday forenoon at the Alexanderwohl Church, with Rev. Ronald Krehbiel officiating. Mrs. Franz, the former Mary Unrau, was a native of the Goessel area and married John P. Franz in 1906. In the early 1920s they were among the Goessel families moving to the Colby area in northwestern Kansas, and Mr. Franz died there in 1935. She returned to Goessel in 1948. Survivors include three sons, Eldo and Arvid, both of Colby and Milford of rural Moundridge; two daughters, Mrs. Abe Dahl of Hillsboro and Mrs. Virgil Unruh of Newton; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, D. V. Unrau of Newton and W. H. Unrau of Goessel; and two sisters, Mrs. H. A. Reimer and Mrs. Ferd Schroeder, both of Goessel.
