HELENA (LENA) TIELMANN
Helena (Lena) Tielman died Jan 31. She was born Oct. 23, 1927 to Jakob and Helena Tielmann in Neuhalbstadt, Sagradowka, Ukraine. Her father was arrested and executed when she was 10. She became responsible for her younger siblings because her mother worked on the collective farm. She accepted Jesus at 14 and was baptized in 1941. In 1943 they fled to Germany but were taken back to Russia after the war. She became a logger. She became ill, was hospitalized and released as disabled. After Stalin's death the family was released from exile and moved south. In 1971 she immigrated to Canada. She worked in Tabor Home, Abbotsford. These were the best years of her life and she made many friends. Predeceased by brother Jake; stepbrothers John Hamm and David Hamm; stepsisters Mary Wiebe and Annie Hamm; she is mourned by brothers Peter of Abbotsford, Walter of Germany; stepbrothers Martin Hamm, Victor Hamm, Jake Hamm, Henry Hamm and Cornie Hamm; stepsisters Martha Kroeker and Lydia Kroeker; Art and Tina Wiebe.
